Oracle Athlete of the Month

Not only can she catch, she can hit, too. Cat Olnick showed that in March.

The USF junior catcher was named to the Big East weekly honor roll March 23 for the second time this season after helping the softball team to a 28-16 record and hitting a team-best .404.

Last week, Olnick batted .667 in six conference games while hitting two home runs and five RBI en route to a 12-game hitting streak that ended Saturday.

Olnick is climbing up the Big East conference charts. Entering into this weekend, she was ranked third in the conference in season batting average, while leading the Big East in on-base percentage (.532).

The Ft. Lauderdale native also ranks in the conference’s top 10 for hits (38), doubles (8) and total bases (58), while contributing on defense with a .989 fielding percentage on three errors this season.
