Klasko finalist for Nebraska Medical chancellor
USF Health CEO and Morsani College of Medicine Dean Stephen Klasko has been named as one of four finalists for chancellor of the University of Nebraska’s Medical Center, according to a report from the Omaha World-Herald on Saturday morning.
Klasko, who signed a new five-year contract with USF in December 2011 after joining USF in 2004, is one of the finalists along with the executive associate dean of the University of California, Davis School of Medicine; the dean of the University of Florida-Jacksonville’s College of Medicine; and the vice chancellor for clinical research and director of the Duke Translational Medicine Institute at the Duke University Medical Center, the article stated.
According to the article, the current chancellor of the Medical Center’s salary is $443,367. According to State University System data updated in March 2013, Klasko earned a salary of $381,285 at USF via Education and General Revenue and Contract and Grant sources, but according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal, he earned $941,548 in total compensation in 2011.
A decision for the Nebraska Chancellor position will be announced next week, the article stated.
