Egbunu granted release, roster running thin
Freshman center John Egbunu has been granted a release to transfer from the USF men’s basketball team.
The AAC all-rookie team selectee averaged 7.4 points and 6.2 rebounds a game, the most rebounds by any freshman in the conference last season. Ebgunu joins four other players leaving the team after former head coach Stan Heath was fired, leaving only eight players left on the current roster.
“We appreciate their contributions to our program and wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors,” Barry Clements, USF’s Executive Associate Director of Athletics, said in a press release.
