SG presidential debate to take place Thursday
The Student Government (SG) presidential debate will be held Thursday from 7-8 p.m. in the Marshall Student Center Oval Theater and live-streamed on Microsoft Teams.
Deputy Chief Financial Officer Nithin Palyam and Relations Committee Chair Amy Pham will go face to face with Finance Committee Chair Truong Tran with Circuit Court Associate Judge Rughved Brahman in a series of questions aimed to help the student body determine who they will vote for in the 2022 general election.
Attendees of the debate will be required to wear masks or they will not be allowed to enter the theater, according to an SG Instagram post.
Before the debate begins, the candidates will be introduced to the audience, giving both tickets the opportunity to present their platforms.
The debate will be moderated by Editor in Chief of The Oracle Alexandra Urban and Editor in Chief of The Crow’s Nest Sofía García Vargas. They will present self-written and student-provided questions geared toward giving the audience an understanding of their objectives for office.
