Middleton was hired just last month as coach Alex Golesh was putting together the last pieces of his offensive staff, but will now serve in the exact same role elsewhere.
He has served the role of a wide receivers coach since 2008 at six different programs before South Florida, with his most recent tenure at Kent State from 2018-22.
USF athletics has yet to confirm the information at the time of publication.
