Former Bulls linebacker picked in XFL Draft

The Vegas Vipers selected former Bulls linebacker Dwayne Boyles in the XFL Draft on Friday.

Boyles had accepted a rookie minicamp invitation from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in May.. However, he will still get a chance to play pro ball in the XFL this upcoming season. 

Last season with the Bulls, Boyles led the team in tackles with 108 and had 10 tackles for loss. Additionally, the Miami native racked up double-digit tackles in six straight games and led the team in seven games. He was named an All-AAC Honorable Mention to cap off his final year.

In five seasons with USF, he finished his career with 54 games played in a green and gold uniform — a program record. Boyles also ranks seventh all-time in tackles with 320.
