BRIEFS: Anthony Henry signs with Cowboys
Former USF defensive back Anthony Henry signed a five-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, with a $10-million signing bonus.
Henry, who played with the Bulls from 1997-2000, first entered the league in 2001 with the Cleveland Browns and has spent the past four years playing with new Cowboys assistant Todd Bowles.
In his rookie year, Henry, 28, recorded 10 interceptions, but has had only seven since, though he has 207 tackles in his four years, including 85 last season.
Henry holds the USF career record for most fumble recoveries (6) and is second only behind Philadelphia Eagle’s cornerback JR Reed for most career interceptions, with 10.
The USF men’s golf team had a come-from-behind victory over Florida Southern, shooting a final-round 290 to win the Dick Wittcoff/USF Invitational on Sunday at The Claw.
Senior Brad Quiri shot a 219 on the weekend and a third-round 72. He finished tied for second with Patrick McLennan of Middle Tennessee State during individual competition.
